A dermaroller is a skin needling device with many small surgical needles. Dermarollers come in needle lengths between 0.13 and 3 mm. The needle diameter (thickness) is approximately 0.25 mm at their base. Dermarolling remolds the skin by creating thousands of microscopic channels through the skin, increasing the formation of new tissue by activating the body’s wound healing cascade (hemostasis-inflammation-proliferation-tissue remodeling). The micro-channeling causes the release of growth factors that promote scar-less healing and the deposition of normal woven collagen rather than scar collagen. The fibroblasts are responsible for collagen production.

DermaPure Roller therapy can significantly improve the appearance of:

Facial and décolletage lines and winkles
Lack of skin firmness and elasticity
Acne and chicken pox scars
Enlarged pores
Sun damage and age spots
Cellulite and stretch marks
Under-eye bags
The revolutionary concept of DermaPure Roller therapy is also known as skin needling and is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical damage such as cuts, burns and other abrasions. Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin, our body reuses the damaged collagen and elastin fibres as well as other damaged skin components to produce new healthy ones. This treatment’s popularity is beginning to surface very quickly after Angelina Jolie admitted this is one of her best kept beauty secrets.

Before your procedure commences a topical anaesthetic will be applied to your skin to ensure your comfort. After your skin is numbed, the procedure shall begin by rolling the DermaPure Roller over your skin to puncture the outermost layers of the skin to create minuscule sub-cutaneous injuries. These microscopic wounds stimulate new collagen deposition which may last for up to a year.

Immediately after your Dermaroller procedure a gold mask or cold compresses will be applied to sooth and begin the healing process. You will look as though you have mild to moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after two hours and will normally recover on the same day with only slight redness the following day. An after care pack is suggested to help maintain results and care for your skin during and post treatment.

A course of three Dermapure Roller sessions, at 3-4 week intervals, is usually recommended to achieve optimum results. However you will notice great skin improvement after just one treatment. Treatments can be carried out on the face and body to improve with many concerns.
